NCJC offers trainings designed to strengthen juvenile court advocacy across Nebraska. These offerings provide practical, skills-focused training for attorneys at all stages of their careers, complementing our fellowship and clinical programs. CORE Trainings are open to attorneys statewide and cover essential topics in child welfare and juvenile justice law.
Juvenile Court Advocacy Skills Training: Three Roles. One Courtroom.
Three attorney roles. One realistic case. One immersive learning experience.
Designed for attorneys new to Nebraska's juvenile courts, this free 1½-day skills training explores the distinct roles of the Guardian ad Litem, parents' counsel, and county attorneys, through one realistic juvenile court case. Participants build practical courtroom skills through collaborative exercises, strategy discussions, role-specific learning, and courtroom simulations while developing the professional judgment needed for effective juvenile court advocacy.
Led by NCJC faculty and experienced juvenile court practitioners, the training equips attorneys with practical tools they can immediately apply in juvenile court. Guardians ad Litem who successfully complete the training will satisfy Nebraska's GAL certification requirement.

Cost
There is no cost to attend. Meals, overnight lodging (if needed), and the networking dinner are provided. Nebraska CLE credit is included.
