Katherine Hazen is an Assistant Research Professor of Criminology and Applied Psychology and the Assistant Director of the Public Evaluation Lab at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She graduated with a JD/PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Psychology and Law Program in 2021. Katherine evaluates the implementation and impacts of programs working to improve the well-being and safety of communities. She is particularly interested in examining the psychological experience of due process through relationships between legal actors and civilians. Katherine has been evaluating the NCJC programs on-and-off since 2018. Katherine lives in Massachusetts with her spouse and cat – where she enjoys reading and baking in her spare time.
