Nebraska Center for Children's Justice and Legal Advocacy

The Nebraska Children’s Justice and Legal Advocacy Center (NCJC) housed within the University of Nebraska College of Law, builds upon the success of the Children’s Justice Clinic and the Children’s Justice Attorney Education Fellowship Program. The NCJC is designed to address the critical shortage of qualified attorneys serving children and families in Nebraska’s rural areas. Our mission is to transform juvenile court advocacy by equipping attorneys with the knowledge, skills, and support needed to provide high-quality, trauma-informed representation for children, youth, and families. We have expanded to address the critical need for high-quality legal advocacy, particularly in Nebraska’s rural legal deserts, where access to trained attorneys is limited.

“Law students and attorneys working in juvenile court have a tremendous impact on the outcomes for the children and families they serve. Our Center's unique approach supports attorneys to be high quality advocates in their respective roles."
